How we cover events

Franklin’s calendar runs on a rhythm locals learn fast: spring and fall belong to Main Street, summer belongs to the fair and the porches, and December belongs to a downtown that goes all-in on Christmas. Rather than dump every event in the county into a list, we keep a shorter one — the festivals, markets, and shows we’d actually rearrange a weekend for — and we refresh it as dates firm up.

Two things make this category different from the big event aggregators. First, everything here is checked by people who live in town, so you won’t drive to a festival that quietly moved or a venue that closed last spring. Second, we plan around the practical stuff nobody else mentions — where parking actually is, which events sell out, and which “family-friendly” listings really mean it. If we’re wrong about something, tell us and we’ll fix it fast.
