The Franklin Local is an independent guide to Franklin, Tennessee, written and edited by a small team of locals who live, work, and raise families here.
We started this site because the Franklin we know — the one with a favorite booth at a downtown restaurant, a shortcut to the good parking, and strong opinions about biscuits — didn't have a home on the internet. There's plenty of local news, and there are plenty of tourist guides. What was missing was the resident's guide: where to actually eat, what to actually do with your kids on a Saturday, and who to actually call when your roof leaks.
How we choose what to feature
Businesses can't pay to be listed on The Franklin Local. Every restaurant, shop, and service featured here is included because we (or locals we trust) have genuinely had a good experience there. When that ever changes — if we introduce sponsorships or paid placements — they will be clearly labeled as such.
We make mistakes, hours change, and restaurants close. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
